Living the Dream:
Lifestyle Within 35 Miles of Cashiers

Live the dream in these majestic mountains and lakes. Doug and I built a two-story log home. Both of us are avid hikers and boaters. I enjoy horseback riding on these beautiful Appalachian mountain trails. We look forward to sharing these beautiful mountains with you and helping you make the most of them. We know of no better area for retirement or owning a vacation home. Spend some time here and you'll understand why!

We would like to show you a few photos of the cabin, plus us enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery of this area. We have a Visual Tour and other photos of the cabin if you would like to see the interior.

To see captions and comments just hold your mouse pointer over each photo and wait for the "balloon" window.

All of these photos (except one) were taken within 35 miles of Cashiers. There are many great things to see in this area. The Carolina mountains are full of waterfalls, lakes, scenic mountain trails, parks, rivers, and wildlife.

Life is beautiful in these Carolina mountains.
Fly fishing in the Whitewater River Greta on the beach at Lake Jocassee ( a few minutes from here). While we were swimming Greta dug a hole and filled Doug's boots with sand. Good dog.

View from Big Rock back (east) towards our cabin over Big Rock Lake. The cabin is not visible but is located near the far left corner of the lake. As you can see, Doug is not at all tired after climbing the mountain. Looking the opposite direction (west) from the top of Big Rock. Doug finally got tired.
Doug and Greta climbing rocks. Sophie wet after discovering a creek we didn't know about in the forest behind the big mountain by our house. She then led us to the creek and we found a new waterfall. This is where Carol gave Sophie her Indian name, Little Bear Paws. I gave her one myself: Thunder Monkey.
