Waterfalls of Western North Carolina & South Carolina

The natural beauty of the Cashiers, North Carolina area is unique and abundant in its variety. Within 50 miles you will find a large number of waterfalls of all sizes. Some are small, but others are among the tallest you will find east of the Rockies. Here are a few of our favorites. Click the small image to see a much larger one (about 25 - 50k). NarrowsThe Narrows
Fairfield Sapphire Valley, NC. the beautiful Narrows waterfalls are located on the Horsepasture River.
Dry FallsDry Falls
It really is much more impressive than this partially-obscured photo reveals. Walk under the 75 foot tall falls and stay (mostly) dry. On US 64 between Franklin and Highlands, NC.
Bridal VeilBridal Veil
This is 2.7 miles west of Highlands, NC. It is 125 feet tall, and you can drive under it.
Whitewater FallsWhitewater
NC. This is in a national park and will cost you $2 to park there, but it is worth it. The falls is a short walk along a paved path. At a total vertical drop of 411 feet, this is the tallest falls east of the Rockies!
Gorge (37653 bytes)Cullasaja Falls
Past Dry Falls on US 64. Bring a small car. This is along the side of a narrow, twisty section of US 64. Very impressive for its size.
Issaquena Falls Issaquena
Our favorite! Walhalla, SC. 
Twin FallsTwin Falls
Pickens, SC. Seventy-five feet tall. A pleasant 15 minute walk along a scenic, rushing river.
